Simple School Makeup

I'm guessing school have started for most people now, or will start soon. And that probably means that you have to get up earlier and not have as much time for doing your makeup. You might also be quite tired and want to make yourself look more awake and fresh. That is why I wanted to share this makeup look with you today. It is a simple look and it only takes about 10 minutes for me to do.

Firstly I just wanted to give you a couple tips for how to make you look more awake when you are doing your makeup;

  • Use a very light eye pencil (or white but it can look a bit harsh) in your waterline and a light eyeshadow in your inner corners. This will help to open up your eyes which makes you look more awake.
  • Use a blush with a little shimmer in it because the shimmer will help making your skin look more healthy. Now if don't like shimmery blushes, then don't use it. But I personally think it's pretty, especially when you skin is looking tired and dull. Alternatively you can use a matt blush and a highlighter or your cheekbones if you have a matt blush you want to use but also want a little glow/shimmer.
  • If you have time, then a winged eyeliner is something that also helps with opening up your eyes. It  doesn't has to be dramatic in any way. Just a thin line with a little wing will do the job.

This is the look that I did and I really feel like it just makes me look awake and fresh which is the whole point of it. The only thing is that I am an winged eyeliner girl and I did not use eyeliner with this look and the reason to that is that I wouldn't always have time for eyeliner when I went to school. (I feel really old when I think about that I'm not in school anymore..) So basically, I would like this look more with a winged eyeliner but if you don't have time, you don't have time, and I still do like this look and it is one that I do quite often.

Here you can see the eyeshadows more. I guess you could say it's a really easy and natural smokey look.

So how did I achieve this look? Well, I started with my base and for that I used the beautycycle oil free foundation (I don't know where you can buy this, I got it from my mom who bought it when she was at a friend who had a makeup artist coming over. Sorry... But I really like it so I wanted to use it). My MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC 15 and my Kicks Powder in Translucent (which I'm running out of) and for blush I used the Wet n Wild Colour Icon blush in Pearlescent Pink. I did not use a bronzer this time but sometimes I do and when I do that it is the E.L.F. Cool bronzer I use.
I filled in my eyebrows with the Soap And Glory Archery Brow Pencil.
For the eyes I primed them with the Too Faced Shadow Insurance and then I used the Wet n Wild Colour Icon Palette in Comfort Zone.I first applied the colour in the top left hand corner on the inner half of my eyelid and as a highlighter in my inner corner. Then I applied the brown colour two steps down from the first one on the outer half of my eyelid and then I blend them together. I finished the eyes with the IsaDora Inliner Kajal in Blonde and the Maybelline The Rocket Mascara.
Lastly for my lips and wanted something natural that doesn't matter if it wears off and that is easy to reapply so I want for the E.L.F. Lip Balm SPF in Peach just to give my lips a little bit of colour and also moisturize them.

How do you like your makeup for school?

Spray Brush Cleaner

I think we can all agree on that washing our makeup brushes is a really boring thing to do.That is why I love this product; a spray cleaner for you brushes. The one I have is from Kicks but I know that bareminerals make one too but I haven't tried that one so I can't say anything about how that one works.
If you don't know what this is than it's basically a spray that you spray directly on you brush (or on a paper tissue) then you swirl your brush on a tissue to wipe of the product that was on it and you're left with a clean brush. It's as simple as that.

This is not the same thing as properly washing your brushes, I still think you should do that about once a week. (At leas that's about how often I try to force myself to do it). And also, I only use this spray cleaner for my eyeshadow brushes. I don't think it something that you should use for a foundation brush for example, they need a real wash so that you're sure about that they really are clean.
When you want to use the same brush for different eyeshadows or if you want a clean blending brush I think this is a really good product to have. It goes so fast and the brush dries in literally seconds.

2014

The new year is here! Well, it's been here for three days.
I hope you had an awesome new years, I sure did. Spend all night until 23.30 to get ready with hair and makeup, to then sit in a jacuzzi and ruin all the effort I had put in. But who cares? This was the best new years I have had! Nothing really went as we had plan but sometimes that can be a good thing. And it really was this time.

On another note, how many of you have made a new year resolution? I usually don't but I have one this year.
I want to be more organised.
I'm a that kind of person that does things the last minute and I'm a bit of a time optimist which most of the time isn't a good thing. In order to help me with this I have bought a planner.

This planner is from the brand Letts and I tried to find it on their website but it wasn't there.
The main reason to why I chose this one was because I love the pink colour it has on the cover. Even though one thing that made me a little unsure about it is the fact that almost half of the book has lined papers, like a note book, but thinking about it, it might actually be a good thing.
So the first half is a planner for 2014 and it even goes to the 18th of January 2015, then there is a few pages that includes measurement conversion and things like that, then the second half is a note book.
Now I just hope that I will use it, and I think I will considering I like it so much.

I also want to tip you guys about this video above that MissJessicaHarlow on youtube made that I really liked where she gives some tips about how to keep you new years resolution. I really think you should watch it if you have a hard time keeping your resolutions.

It's red!

I got bored of my brown hair so I decided to dye it red again and I LOVE it!
I have had red hair before so when I bought this dye I knew this was the one I wanted. Syoss Professional Performance in 5-29 Intense Red. I do think that this is the best red hair dye that you can buy in a drugstore or supermarket out there. My hair was medium/dark brown before I would say and look how red it is now! It does depend a little on the light how intense it looks. It's much  more red out in daylight than inside but nevertheless, it's red.
So that you can use it even on darker hair and it still makes it this red is one of the reasons to why I like this hair dye so much. The other reason is that it actually stays in your hair. I feel like with the other red dyes I have used, the intensity in the colour washes out after a couple or a few weeks but with this dye it's still pretty intense even 1-2 months after you used it. I think that's pretty damn awesome. ( Sorry for the swear word but I need it to explain how amazing this colour is.)

I also thought I tell you two tips on how to not get the dye on your skin in your forehead, ears and neck.
1, Apply some Vaseline on your skin in those areas where you usually get the dye. That way the dye will not touch your skin and you can just wipe it away after you're done applying the dye in your hair.
2, Use makeup remover or makeup wipes to wipe of the dye you may have gotten on your skin. If you have tried to wipe away hair dye with soap and water you probably have noticed that it doesn't work that good. But makeup remover really does work if you do it straight away when you're done applying the hair dye.

What do you think? What is your favourite hair dye?

Neutral palettes

A neutral eyeshadow palette is something that I think you should have, you can create so many different looks with them. Everything from a simple everyday look to a classic 50's look to a dramatic smokey eye. The hard thing is to find one that is good for you. That have all the colours you're looking for. That is the problem I'm struggling with. I do have some neutral colours I really like, both matte and shimmery, but they are in different palettes.
I have been thinking about the Urban Decay Naked 2 ( I like that on more than the first one ) and the Naked Baics. I think Naked Basics seems to be such a good small palette that you easily can bring with you when you go away and you have colour to create many looks with. But at the same time I'm not sure about it. Then I thought the Naked 2 would be good. Sure it's bigger but you get twice as many eyeshadows and you get a double ended brush with it which I think is a big plus.
If you want something a bit cheaper the Sleek palettesare great. I have two ( not the ones on the picture ) and they are great. Here are the Storm and Au Naturel palettes. I like there is a few colour in the Storm palette. You can make a pretty neutral makeup but then add a pop of colour to make it more fun. With the Au Naturel palette I like that there are so many dark colours, it makes it so easy to do different smokey looks which I really like on the fall and winter.
The last one is the cheapest for only £ 4 from MUA but don't be fooled by the low price. I have two shimmery single eyeshadows from MUA and the are amazing!
This is the Undressed palette. I think it has a good variation of colour but I wish it would have a darker matte colour.

I don't know if this has helped anyone in any way but that was my opinions of five neutral eyeshadow palettes. I don't have any of these but I have heard good things about all of them.

10 Summer Essentials

It's starting to feel more like summer here in Sweden now so I thought I will show you 10 of my summer essentials.
The first two things are the ones I find the most important. Sun lotion and after sun. It is really important to protect your skin from the sun so do not forget sun lotion when you outside. If you would still get a sunburn or your skin feels a bit dry after you've been out, then use an after sun lotion. Here is a review on this after sun.

My top two makeup essentials on the summer are a BB-cream or a foundation with SPF ( protect you skin! ) and powder. This powder isn't that mattifying but it's enough for my skin which is nomal to combination now on the summer. Click here to read more about it.

If I say at a friends house for the night or if I go to the beach I think it so much easier to wash my makeup off with cleansing wipes than makeup remover. It goes quicker and you don't need cotton pads and water and what you might need with a cleansing milk or gel.
I also like to use leave in conditioner on the summer. If I've been in the water or by the coast were it's windy my hair gets quite tangled and it helps so much to use a leave in conditioner when I brush my hair. It also make my hair soft and shiny.
I always have dry lips so a lip balm is always a must for me.

Hair ties! Always have one with me so I can put my hair up or do a braid or whatever I feel like.
My two clothing essentials are shorts and a cozy knitted jumper I can pull over when it gets colder on the night.

That's all my summer essentials. What are some of yours?

With/Without blue eyeshadow for brown eyes

As you probably already know there are certain colours that are good if you want to enhance your eye colour. I have brown eyes and the colour that enhances brown is blue.
So on the picture above I have one eye with just eyeliner and mascara and one with some blue eyeshadow under the lower lashline too.
I think my eye looks more life full with the blue under. It also looks a bit more fun with a pop of colour.

The blue eyeshadow is 5H from this palette from Viva La Diva. It is a quite true blue with some shimmer. It looks a bit lighter when it's applied though.

My Nails - Mattte Pink/Purple

After I saw this video a couple weeks ago I really wantet to try that technique. I have a matte top coat polish but it doesn't work that good to be honest. So yesterday I boiled some water and painted my nails.
It actually worked really good, as you can see on the picture.
The colour of the nail polish, Depend nr. 193, looks more purple here than it is. It's more pink in real life.

My favourite online shops

I like to shop on the internet because there is so much more to find. More stores and more brands. I most of the time think it's worth it even though it takes a couple weeks to get what you ordered and you don't really know exactly that the item is like in reality before you buy it.
Today I want to share my favourite beauty and clothing online shops with you.

Missguided, Topshop, and Nelly are my favourites when it comes to clothing. I can always find something I like on all of these shops and to an okay price. Some things are more expensive and some things have a really good price. All of them have a good delivery cost too. I hate it when i find something I like online and then the delivery is really expensive. I also feel like most people can find something they like one these sites no matter if you have a simple casual style or if you want something more dressed up.

On to beauty. Lookfantastic, Beautybay and Feelunique. All of them are british and have free worldwide delivery which is awesome. Make up is much cheaper in the UK than it's here in Sweden and they sell quite a few brands there that we don't have here, Urban Decay, Too Faced, Real Techniques and Rimmel for example. That is why I like these shops. The delivery usually takes about 2 weeks which is okay.
