When You Can't Decide

I am addicted to nail polish. That is just how it is. I have just over 100 nail polishes and I can't remember the last time I went even one day with any colour on my nails. Sometimes I know exactly which polish I'm going to paint them and sometimes I know which colour I want but can't make up my mind on which shade. That was how it was last time I painted them. So instead of just using one shade, I used five. One for each nail. From black to white. Shiny, shimmer and glitter. And I love it!

My Nails - IsaDora Turquoise

First nail colour of the year! And to try and have a good and happy start of the year I decided that I wanted something colourful on my nails. Even though I guess this is a colour that many would say is a summer colour I actually think it goes just as well as a winter polish. It might be because of the frost finish.
Anyway, I really like it and I'm glad I rediscovered it. I think it was over a year ago I used it last. At least as the only colour, I think I have used it when I have done some kind of design on my nails which I've been really lazy with lately.
The only downside about it is that it's quite old and they don't sell this colour anymore.

My Nails - Autumn Polishes #3

Any kind of slightly darker green goes well on your nails for autumn if you ask me, even though I'm not a big fan of the colour green. Dark/deep green colours reminds me of the woods and that reminds me of autumn.
A funny thing about that I chose this polish is that it came with a spring collection called Bloom in 2010. It's by Orly as you can see on the picture and the colour is called Wandering Vine.
I tried to find a good dupe for this one since it came with a collection almost four years ago so you can't buy it anymore and I have to say that it was much harder than I thought. The best dupe I found is Essie Going Incognito but I think that one has a bit more blue tones in it.

My Nails - Autumn Polishes #2

What is a more perfect colour for autumn than a classic red?



This one is from IsaDora and the colour is called '40 Supreme Red'. I bought it several years ago and they don't sell this colour anymore but you can find a classic red from pretty much any brand. The thing I especially like about this polish is that it's a slightly deeper red which I think is more flattering against my skintone and a bright red would be.

My Nails - Autum polishes #1

I am now going to start a little series here among my nail posts where I show my top 5 favourite colours to have on my nails for autumn. Some of them you may not be able to get hold of anymore since I got them quite a while ago. (By that I mean a few years ago.) The point is not that these polishes are my favourite, just the colour. I'm going to try and find similar colours from other brands that you can get hold of though.

The first colour I really like for autumn is a dark purple. This one is from H&M and it's called "Meet me in the dark" which I think is a good name for it because it's really dark.Depending on the light it can almost look black sometimes, but it's not as hard against your skin as a black would be, if you're as pale as I am.
It looks nice and opaque with two coats but it's not the best quality, but I don't think that matters too much if you use a topcoat over it.
One polish I found that seems to be quite similar to this one is "Sole Mate" from Essie.

My Nails - Light Green / Claudia nr. 107 Honeydew

I'm quite lazy with my nails on the summer. With that I mean that I hardly ever do any design, I still always have them painted. I almost feel naked if I don't have any colour on my nails. I guess that is because I'm so used to it, I'm not used to see them without nail polish and I don't like them without nail polish.
To make it a little more fun and make it look like I have tried I simply painted the rigfingers in a different colour than the rest. This time it was a white from E.L.F. with nr. 158 Sparkling Silver from Claudia over. On all the other finger I used another polish from Claudia in 107 Honeydew.
I actually like this green polish more than I thought I would. It's a perfect light green. I find that many light green colours are more towards mint green but this one isn't. I think that is what I like about it. I also think this will be a good base colour to do designs on since it's so light.

My Nails - Nude / Lumene Gloss & Care 13 Full Of Peonies

Here it is, the nail polish I showed in my last post.
It is a nude light pink colour. I wasn't sure if it was going to suit my skin colour or not but I wanted a pale pink so I bought it. I thought it was better to buy this for 30 :- and see how I like it rather than go for an Essie one for 129 :- straight away.
I actually do quite like this colour. It doesn't wash me out or anything and I think it's a nice colour for when I want something on my nails ( which I always want ) but nothing too much, just something subtle.
So yeah, I like the colour. The pigmentation is another story though. I think a nail polish should look good with two coats, three could be okay too. But with this one I needed four coats. Since this is a drugstore polish in a really pale colour maybe I can't ask for too much but I really wish it had a better pigmentation since it's such a pretty colour.

My Nails - Green / Depend 227

I felt for something summery this time since the weather have really gotten better here the last week. I looked through my nail polishes and found this one that I don't know if I have ever worn before. I'm pretty sure it's from Depend's spring collection two years ago.
The colour looks more green in person and not quite as blue as it looks on the picture, but it's also a little different in different lights. It has really tiny glitters in it which I think it really pretty. It gives the polish something more without being too much.
You can't tell form the picture but I actually think this colour makes my pale skin look a little bit tanned. Not much though, I guess it just compliments my complexion well.

My Nails - Mattte Pink/Purple

After I saw this video a couple weeks ago I really wantet to try that technique. I have a matte top coat polish but it doesn't work that good to be honest. So yesterday I boiled some water and painted my nails.
It actually worked really good, as you can see on the picture.
The colour of the nail polish, Depend nr. 193, looks more purple here than it is. It's more pink in real life.

My Nails - Grid

This time I decided to do a simple design on my nails with these black and white nail polishes from e.l.f.
I used to always do some kind of nail art on my nails but I have been a little lazy with that lately, but now I have decided to start with it again. Even though it was a really simple design this time. I can promise you that you're going to see some more fun designs in the future here on my blog!

My nails - Blue / H&M Blue My Mind

Here is the nail polish I painted my nails with a couple days ago. I think I would say it's a sky blue colour. It's pretty pure blue but I wouldn't call it a pure blue colour. I don't really know how to describe it to be honest. You can see it on the pictures.
This polish is one of my favourite blue. I think it's that kind of colour that works good all year around.

My nails - White / IsaDora nr. 103 Pearly Frost

 

This is the polish I have on my nails now. It's one of my favorite even though I most often like colours on my nails.

It is a white polish with a frost finish and I think it's really pretty.

My nails - Pink / Depend nr. 69

This is the polish I have on my nails now. Number 69 from a swedish brand called Depend. I think it was a couple years ago I bought it so I don't know if they still sell it.
However, this is a pink or fuchsia colour with a cold undertone that you can see best where the light hits it. It almost looks a little purple.
I think this is a really nice colour and a little different.
