Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

An eyeshadow palette that looks like a chocolate bar, smells like chocolate and the eyeshadows are made with real coca? Yes please!

I bought this from LookFantastic for £45 (actually I got it for £36 because they had a 20% code when I bought it. Yaay for cupon codes!). What you get is this lovely palette which contain sixteen eyeshadows, two of them are twice the sice of the others. I think there is a good viraity of textures here, some matt/semi matte, some shimmery and a few with a little bit of glitter in them. I think all eyeshadows in this palette are easy to work with and are easy to blend.

All of the shadows, exept for two, are natural shades. Sometimes natural palettes can be a bit boring and the colours look too much alike. That is not the case with this palette. There are browns, gold, copper, redish shades and purple toned shades. Dark and light. There are mostly warm shades which isn't that weird concidering it is inspired by chocolate and chocolate brown is more of a warm brown, but they are not too warm which I like. The two shades that are not as natural are one very light baby pink and one purple or slightly blue depending on the light. I would say that this palette has most shades you want in a natural eyeshadow palette and the looks you can create using it are endless. You can do anything from a subtle everyday look to a dramatic dark smokey eye.

When it comes to pigmentation I would say it good, best if you use a primer as with most eyeshadows. One thing thoguh is that I feel like with a couple of the shades, the gold one (creme brule) and the purple (candid violet), you might need a creme eyeshadow as a base to get the full intensity of the shadow. Having said that thought, they still work good with just a normal primer, they are just not a intense as they could be.
I have used the Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a base on the swatches.

Here is a quite easy look that I did using this palette. I have Too Faced Shadow Insurance as my base all over the eyelid. I used creme brule (with the Maybelline 24/7 colour tattoo in On and On Bronze under) on the inner half of my eyelid, hazelnut on the outer half and milk chocolate to blend it out in the crese. Then I highlighted both my browbone and innner corner with Champagne Truffle. Lastly I used Candid Violet under my lover lashline to add a bit of colour and make it a bit more fun.

Overall I do really like this palette and I already know that it will be well loved even if I only have had it for about a week. The shades are easy to wear and easy to work with. What more can you ask for?

One more thing I want to say is that I read THIS blogpost about this palette before I bought it and I love how she compared these eyeshadoes with other palettes and since I don't have any of those palettes it made me want to get this one even more!

What do you think about this palette? Is it just one more natural eyeshadow palette or do you think it has something special?

Garnier PureActive 3 in 1 - Review

I have been using this scrub for a few weeks now so I thought I would tell you what I think about it.
First thing first. This is a product that you can use both as a face wash, scrub and mask. It says on it that it's made for Oily skin with imperfections.
When you use it as a wash or scrub you simply just wet your face with water, massage the product all over your face excep for close to your eyes then wash it off with water and dry your face with a towel.
When you use it as a mask you apply it all over your face except for around your eyes. It says on the tube that you should leave it for three minutes but I usually leave it for for about 5-10 minutes because it doesn't have time do dry completly if I only have it on for three minutes. When it has dried you wash it off with water.
So now on to what I think about it. As a wash/scrub I think it feels nice on the skin when I use it and my skin feels really nice when I wash it of. I didn't really notice any differenc on my skin between this scrub and the one I used before which was the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit scrub which I also liked. My skin still looks nice and feels nice so I would say it's a pretty good scrub that cleans your skin and leaves it feeling fresh and nice. I use it to wash/scrub my face every night.
As a mask I'm quite impressed by it. I only use it as a mask if I have any spots since it's for oily skin and I would say my skin is normal right now so I don't want to use it as a mask too often. When I do have a few spots I use this mask once a week and leave it on for 5-10 minutes as I said before. The day after or two days after I can usually see a huge differenc on my spot. They are almost gone and scars and red spots I have from old blemishes don't look as prominent which is one thing that I love about this mask. I have a few red marks on my cheek from blemishes I had a couple months ago and they never seemed to fade, but the first time I used this product as a mask I could see that they weren't as red the day after I used the mask.

As a summary of my opinion on this product I would say that it's a good scrub and a brilliant mask if you have any spots. It's supposed to be for oily skin but my skin is pretty normal now and it still works great for my so I would say you probably can use it if you have normal, combination or oily skin. I don't know how it would work for someone with dry skin but I'm guessing this wouldn't be for you.
I definitely recommend this to anyone that have or sometimes gets spots or blemishes and are looking for a good affordable scrub or mask.

First Impression: L'oreal Sublime Soft Micellar Cleansing Water

I have only use this product for about a week but I wanted to say what I think about it so far so I guess this is more lika a 'first impression' post than a review.
My very first thought about this when I woke up on the morning the day after I used it the first time was: WOW! I had two spots on my cheek but I could see a big difference on them after just using this cleansing water one time.. I was still a little red but the actual spots had gotten much smaller. The funny thing about that is that it says on the bottle that it is for dry and sensitiv skin so then I don't expect it to do anything with my spots since you mostly get spots from oiliness. So that is one big positive thing!
It also removes my make up really well. I usually use this on a cotton pad, then my scrub, then this again when I wash my face on the night and i feel like it really washes of all the dirt.
So right now I don't really have anything negative to say about this at all. I would recommend it to most people, no matter your skintype, since I have combination and it works like a dream for me.

Favourite Summer Foundation

I would say that I prefer to use a BB-cream rather than a foundation on the summer. Both because they feel lighter on the skin, they look more natural and they have SPF along with many more skin benefits. But that was before I tried this foundation.
I actually bought it in the end of last summer but my tan faded quite fast and I got paler so then this colour was to dark for me, but now it's a good match.
The reasons to why this is such a good summer foundation for me is that you don't feel it on your skin. I really don't like to feel like I have a whole lot of makeup on my skin when it's hot weather. It also dries pretty matt which I think makes it last longer, I still always powder over it though. The last thing is that it has SPF 30 in it which obviously is really good and especially now on the summer.
I sometimes mix it with my moisturizer and apply it with my hands if I want it to go quicker and don't feel like I need to much coverage. If I want a bit more coverage I apply it with my E.L.F. powder brush but when I do that I pump out a little on the brush and apply that to one area on my face and so on. I do that because this foundation dries pretty fast so  it makes it easier to blend out.
I would say it has a medium coverage but you can build it up a little.

Nivea Sun Moisturising After Sun Lotion

We all know how important it is to protect our skin from the sun and we always hear so much about different sunscreen and makeup products with SPF. But people don't really talk that much about after sun lotions, which I think can be almost as important.
I always get sunburnt in the begining of the summer, it doesn't matter what sunscreen I have on. My skin, specially on my shoulders will be as red as a tomato. I remember one time when I was probably about 6 or 7 years old and I got so burned on my shoulders and it hurt so much that I couldn't sleep and ended up crying in my parents bed.
This is obviously a lotion that you apply after you have been out in the sun and it calms and moisturises your skin. It also says that it makes you tan last longer.
I think this works really good, it feel nice when I apply it and really makes the red sunburn go away and turn into a more tanned colour faster.
One more thing I really like about it and is probably one of the reasons to why it works so good is that it contains aloe vera which is really calming for the skin.
If you have burnt you skin really bad you might want to use something like the Jason Soothing 98% Aloe Vera Gel which I think is amazing. It works amazing if you have burnt yourself on the oven or a curling iron or something else too.

Chestnut brown hair

I have had my hair dyed since August 2008, so for almost 5 years. I don't even really remember what me natural haircolour looks like anymore. But it should be some kind of medium brown. I have had dark brown, black/blue-black and different red-brown colours in my hair. It has been red-brown since last fall and I really like it.
Now I thought it was time to dye it again cause of my roots that you can see in the picture. When I was in the store trying to decide if I wanted to go more towards a red or a brown I had a bit of a struggle. I really like the red but in the end I went for a colour more towards brown. I'm probably going to go for a more red colour the next time though.
This chestnut brown colour from Schwarzkopf turned out to be a little bit darker and a little bit more red that I expected. I know the colour look really similar to the colour my hair had before in the picture but it looks darker in person. The red in it might be the red tones I had in me hair before that shines trough. Red can be really hard to get rid of as you might know.
I really like these Colour Masks, this was the second time I used them. I always use permanent hair dyes but that doesn't mean the colour will look the same forever, it does washes out a bit after a while. But this dye looks really good for a long time. If it wasn't for my roots I wouldn't had dyed my hair and it was about two months ago I did it the last time I think.
So good job Schwarzkopf!

Lancome Hypnose Star

Here is the review I said I was going to do.
First off, this is juat a sample sized mascara I have. My sister had the full size and got this one in a Glossybox so she gave it to me so I could try it.
This mascara has a brush that I haven't seen before. It has a cone shape I guess you could say, and on the side the bristles are longer and on one side they are shorter. That means that you can use the side with short bristles to build up the volume and the side with the long bristles to seperate your lashes. I usually go back and forth with the two sides till I get my lashes as I want them.
On the pictures on the second row I show you what this mascara looks like on me. On the first photo I have only curled my lashes, on the second one I have one coat of the mascara and on the third I have two coats.
I think this mascara gives both lenght and volume and it really holds the curl. My lashes looks the same on the night when I wash my makeup off as they did when I had just applied the mascara. That is what I love about it. This is the only one I have tried that makes my lashes look the same the whole day.
I also like the volume it gives but one thing I don't like as much is that, as you can see on the picture, the more you layer this mascara your lashes kind of clump together. This is not a clumpy mascara in any way but if you compare the picture with one layer and the one with two you can see that it looks like I have more lashes with only one layer on.
Overall this is one of the best mascaras I have tried when it comes to volume and lenght, and it is the best when it comes to hold. I would buy it if my wallet would allow it. But 320 swedish crowns is too much for a mascara for me.

E.L.F Cream Eyeshadow

I always need to have some kind of base under my eyeshadows or they  will crease within a few hours. I always use my Too Faced Shadow Insurance but sometimes I want something that will make the colour more intense. Here is a great product for that.
The purple colour is called 'Purple Pleaser' and the golden is called 'Natural Glow'.
On the picture I have swatched the cream eyeshadow on the left and an normal eyeshadow on the right. In the middle I have the cream with the eyeshadow over. As you can see, the cream really does makes a difference for how intense the colour of the eyeshadow looks.
I use a synthetic flat eyeshadow brush to apply it.
I have never tried these cream eyeshadows without a primer under but I can say that your eye makeup will stay the whole day with a primer, the the cream, then your eyeshadow.
I have even used the purple one under blue eyeshadows and if I make sure to pack the eyeshadows on you cant tell that I used a purple base under.
These cream eyeshadows are shimmery but you can use them under matte eyeshadows too, but then your makeup will have a little shimmer to it, but not that much. So don't be scared to try them out even  if you're not much for shimmer.
Also, it says on the that they are good for 6 months but I have had the golden one for about a year I think and it hasn't dried that much yet.
As a conclusion: I love this product and for its price it's pretty much perfect!

Nivea Essential Care

I have quite dry lips so I like to try different lip balms to see which ones works the best for me.
This is unfortunately not one of them. I have read other rewies of the product and most people seems to think it's good but for some reason it doesn't really work for me.
It does feels nice on the lips when you apply it and it also feels quite moisturizing but it doesn't do anything for me in the long term. I mean, it feel nice when I have it on my lips but after a while my lips feel just a dry as they did before I applied it. I would have to reapply it all the time to make my lips feel and look nice.
I'm going to use this one up but I'm not going to repurchase it and I wouldn't recomend it from my own experience with it. Maybe it works better for people with not as dry lips as mine.
I don't think so many people would say that they like it if it's not a good product but I feel like I need something more.

My skincare routine

These are all the products I use for my skincare right now and I'm quite happy with all of them.
The first thing I do on the night is to use the Nivea Waterproof Eye Make-Up Remover. I used to use one from L'oreal that I loved but I actually think I like this one even more. It's so easy to get rid of both eyeliner and mascara, and it's goes fast. That might be because it's made for waterproof make up and the make up I use isn't.
Next I use the Nivea pure and natural cleansing milk for all skin types. It says on it that you're supposed to use it with a cotton pad but I find that it works much better to use it on wet face with my hands, then wash it off.
After that I scrub my face with the Neutrogena visibly cleas pink grapefruit daily scrub. This is also I product I really like. I feel like my skin has become more clear since I started using this. It's a quite gentle scrub so there is no problem with using it everyday. It also smells good which is always a plus.
Now I need to moisturize my skin with the Nivea  Daily Essentials Nourishing Day Care. I do like this but now I have the one for dry skin, which was what I needed on the winter, bot now I think one for combination skin would be better and that's probably the one I'm going to buy when I'm out of this one. (Yes I use a day cream on the night).
Last I use my Vitamin E Eye Cream from The Body Shop that you can read what I think of here.

On the morning I just use the cleansing milk which makes my skin feel fresh and then I moisturise with the same cream as on the night.

Btw, follow my blog on bloglovin if you want!

Btw again, I have now I header that I'm happy with!

TRESemmé Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo

I most often wash my hair every third day, sometimes every second. Since I try to not wash it too often it can sometimes be a little greasy but not so bad that I need to wash it. That's when I like to use this product.
I do like it even though I don't think it's the best dry shampoo.
It is white when you spray it in your hair but when you have massaged it in you can't tell which I really like since I have dark hair. I feel like dry shampoos can sometimes make your hair look a little grey and boring I guess, if you have dark hair.
So you spray it in your hair (mainly at the roots), wait a minute or two and massage it in. It absorbs the oils so that your hair doesn't looks greasy anymore.
It doesn't last all day, but most of it for me and I feel like I need to use quite a lot which is why I don't think it's the best you can find.
Overall I do think it is a good dry shampoo and it does its job, but I wished for a little more from it.
I'm not sure but I think it might work better for people with fine hair rather than people with thick hair.

L'oreal True Match Powder

I have used this powder for a week now so I thought I should tell you what I think about it.
The packaging is pretty nice on my opinion. The lid is see-through and under the actual powder is a mirror and a sponge. It would be easier to use the mirror if it was on the inside of the lid so you could look in the mirror and use the powder at the same time but it doesn't bother me that much to be honest.

I apply the powder with my e.l.f. complexion brush. I haven't tried the sponge that comes with the powder so I don't know how good or bad it is.
Now to the actual powder. I really like it. It has a texture that I haven't seen before and I don't really know how to explain it. It feel nice on my skin and it makes my make up lasts most of the day. I wouldn't say it's mattifying but I don't like powders that are so this one is good for me.
It comes in both warm and cold shades ( I have C1 Rose Ivory). It has a little coverage but not too much.
One thing I have read in a couple other reviews on this powder is that it oxidizes after a while. It does not to that for me at all, it stays the same colour all day.
I don't know what else to say. It is a good powder if you want you make up to last but don't need something to mattify your skin,

The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream

I have dark circles under my eyes and my skin has been a little dry there. That made me want to try a eye cream a few months ago and this is the one I bought.
It says on their webpage that it hydrates the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines.
I think it does that. I can easily see that my skin is much more moisturized since I started using this. I don't feel like it has done so much with my dark circles but the fact that my skin is softer makes my concealer go on smoother and it's easier to hide them.
This is the only eye cream I have tried so I can't say how it works compared to any other.
I would recommend it to people that feel like they need to moisturize their under eye area and have fine lines.
